HCL serves up an international flavour at Eastern Education Show

Delegates at this year’s Eastern Education Show were given tantalising choices of food created by HCL’s Development Chef, David Gower.

HCL (Hertfordshire Catering Limited) proudly presented their mouth-watering international flavoured menu samples to eager business leaders and headteachers who visited the Eastern Education Show.

The selection of food that had attendees to the exhibition returning for a second serving included Spiced Carrot and Orange Smoothie with Crispy Kale Confetti, a Full English Breakfast Profiterole with Red or Brown Sauce Glaze and Super Fruit Breakfast Pizza.

For the lunch attendees were delighted with Vietnamese Vegetable Noodle Pho or Moroccan Sweet Potato and Chick Pea Tagine with North African Couscous.

HCL’s fabulous Mini Roast Chicken Dinner complete with Gravy Drizzle was a real hit as a canapé style, pre-lunchtime morsel.

Experimenting with flavour profiles, Butternut Cheesecake and a Courgette and Lemon Drizzle Cake played on the minds of the delegates, who visibly hesitated before taking a sample! Most rewarding for the HCL exhibit team was seeing their eyes light up when the taste was sensational.

HCL backs the national campaign ‘Eat Them To Defeat Them’, an initiative to get school children to eat more vegetables, cleverly demonstrating ways of incorporating more vegetables into their education meals.

Another ‘eggcellent’ innovation HCL had on their stand was handing out real, free-range eggs in specially HCL packaged, recyclable boxes, so delegates would continue to remember the fresh thinking education catering company whilst having a cracking good breakfast themselves the next day!

The Eastern Education Show which took place on 28 February 2019 at Newmarket Racecourse is part of a series of events for the promotion and development of effective school leadership, management, learning and teaching featuring a high-level conference, inspirational workshops and a comprehensive exhibition of leading suppliers of services to schools and academies.

David Marney, Head of Sales at HCL said, “It’s great to get out there and listen to prospective clients, who are looking to change their catering provider to support inspiring their pupils with new food, new dining environments and a true partnership working philosophy. HCL is proud to attend these events to showcase innovation and its determinations to support pupils of all ages have a happy, healthier lifestyle.
