To all HCL Colleagues
It’s that time of year again where we begin to think about the ever popular “Finishing Touches 2018” held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th July at the LACA Main Event.
HCL, celebrated some success last year winning 3 Silver and 1 Bronze, adding to the 3 Golds (1 Best in class), 1 Silver and 2 Bronze’s we scooped in 2016.
The competition is aimed to all levels of staff (not just the elite) so please encourage members of our talented teams to push their boundaries and have a go at entering. I will be on hand to offer any support or advice if needed and can come out to anyone who is struggling for ideas and needs a little help with inspiration on what to do and how to do it.
Year on Year the standard of Finishing Touches improves to new levels and the competition itself had more than 200 entries for last year’s event with the inclusion of two new categories the “Chocolate Truffles” and “Individual Fruit Tartlets”.
There is also some exciting news for Finishing Touches 2018 that the following three new categories are to be added, “50% Fruit Dessert, Cheesecake, A Sculpted or Carved Cake” this now makes it 14 categories in total to tickle your taste buds.
Please contact HCL Head Office for an entry form. Please could I ask that you make sure you understand the criteria required for each category and read the important information at the back of the form to give some hints and tips on what the judges will be looking for to maximise your chance of success (contact me if you require explanation).
Important: Please note that there is a lot of interest that surround certain categories and it is best to get your entries in early to avoid disappointment.
HCL entries should be sent to Head Office (FAO: David Gower) no later than Friday 4th May 2018.
